The major Monasteries (Akhada) of sinhasta bath are under

Kushavartha is one of the most prominent place for pilgrimage in Trimbakeshwar. River Godavari takes root from Kushavartha. The famous sage Gautam's ashram was based here. Also Shree Shankaracharya has also a place in Trimbakeshwar. During Maha Kumbha sadhu's and mahant coming for shahi bath have Akhadas (Schools of Sadhu's). They are Tirth, Ashram, Sarawati, Bharati, Giri, Puri Van, Parvat and Sagar. In the past these all had a single comitee, but due to misundersatndings among them, they were divided into Akhada, they are as follows

Shri Niranjani Akhada (Monasteries)

This sector was founded in year 826 A.D on Monday at Mandavi (Katch). The Akhada's main Deity is KartikSwami. It includes NageSadhu, Mahanta and Mahamandeleshwar. The branches of this Akhada are at Haridwar, Ujain, Trimbakeshwar, Onkareshwar, Udiypur and Jwalamukhi. This Akhada takes bath at dawn.

Shri JunaDatta (Bhirav) Akhada

This Akhada is founded in year 1069 A.D in the month of Kartik on 10th of the first fortnight at Karna Prayag. The Main deity of this Akhada is "Shri Rudhavatar Dattatray". This Akhada include NageSadhu, Mahanta and mahamandeleshwar. The branches are at prayag, Haridwar, Ujain, Trimbakeshwar, Kashi, and onkareshwar. They take bath at early Dawn.

Shri Mahanirwani Akhada

This is founded in 671 A.D on the tenth day of the first fortnight of the month of margashirsha at Zarkand Vaijapuath Dham (Bihar). "Shri Kapil mahamuni" is the main deity of this Akhada. Branches are at prayag, Haridwar, Ujain, Trimbak, Onkareshwar and Kankhal. They also take bath early Dawn.

Shri Atal Akhada

This Akhada is established in 569 A.D on the fourth day of first fortnight of margashirshu at Gondwan. Its main Deity is Gajanana (Lord Ganesha). This Akhada includes Nage Sadhu, Mahanta and Mahamandeleshwar. Its branches are at prayag, Haridwar, Ujain, Trimbak, Kashi, Azar and Baroda. Their bath time is at Dawn.

Shri Awahan Akadha

Its is established in 469 A.D on the ninth day of the first fortnight of Jestha. The main diety of this Akhada is "Dattatraya" and "Gajanana". This Akhadais is with Old Datta Akhada. The centre place of this Akhada is Kashi and Branches are at Prayag, Haridwar, Ujain and Trimbak. They also take bath at dawn.

Shri Aananda Akhada

This Akhada was established in year 778 A.D. Its Main deity is "Shri Agni" and "shri Suryanarayana". This Akhada is with Niranjan Akhada. This Akhada includes Nage Sadhu, Mahant and Mahamandeleshwar. Its branches are at prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain and Trimbak. They take bath at Dawn.

Shri Panchagni Akhada

This Akhada is established in A.D 1058 on the 11th day of the first fortnight of Ashada. Its main Diety is "Gayatri". Its main centre is at Kashi. This akhada includes Shakaracharya from four main seats, Brambhachari sadhu and mahamandeleshwar. Its branches are at prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain and Trimbakeshwar. They also take bath at dawn.

Shri Nathapanthi Gorakhanath Akhada

This Akhada is established in A.D 866 at Trimbakeshwar at the bank of Ahillya Godawari. It is founded by pir Garibnath and Pir Shivnathaji. The main Diety is "Gorakash nath". This Akhada consists of twelve seats. This is known as yogini Kaul and at trimbak is known as Trimbakmathika. The branches of this Akhada is at Rajamathakadri (Mysore). This Akhada takes bath only on Nagpanchami at Trimbakeshwar.

Shri Vaishnava Akhada

It was established in in 1595 A.D at Daraganga. Shri. Madyamurari is the founder. Nirmohi, Nirvani and Khaki are three sections of this Akhada. This akhada are near marutimandir at Trimbakeshwar. The honour of taking bathfirst, was the main cause of dispute between shaiva and Vaishnava. This Dispute resulted in the loss of 18000 sadhus. Peshavas acted arbitrator and solved the problem. Vaishava took bath at chakrutirtha at near trimbak and from 1932 onwards vaishavas started taking bath at Nasik This tradition is still in existance. Form that year Kumbhamela started at Nasik.

Shri Udasin Panchayati Bada Akhada

It is established in year 1710 A.D. The founder is shri. chandraacharya udasin. There are differences amongst them. This Akhada include udansin Sadhu, Mahant and Mahamandaleshwar. The branches are at prayag, Haridwar, Ujain, Trimbak, Bhadaini, Kankhal, Sahebganja, Multan, Nepal and Madras (Chennai). They take bath after sunrise.

Shri Udasinnaya Akhada

It is established in year 1768 A.D . Some Sadhu from udain Akhada seperated themselves from Bada Akhada and established this Akhada. Its promoter is Mahant Suradasji. This includes Sadhu, Mahant and Mahamandeleshwar. Its Branches are at Prayag, Haridwar, ujjain and Trimbak. hey also take bath after sunrise.

Shri Nirmal Panchayati Akhada

It was established in 1918 AD 1784. In the year 1784 at the time of Haridwar Kumbhamela, a meeting was held amd Shri Durgasinha Maharaj was appointed. Its main diety is "Shri Gurunanak Grantha Saheb". The followers of this Akhada are sadhu, mahant and Mahamandeleshwar. Its branches are at Prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain and Trimbakeshwar. Their Shahi bath is after the shahi bath of Udasin Akhada.
